Natural Health School

The training courses of the School of Health seek to delve into diverse knowledge about aspects of applied botany, especially wild plants with a specific look at the use of remedies or improvement of well-being from nutrition.

The training courses have a scientific basis and include the most typical aspects of basic botany associated with the knowledge of ecology, their adaptation to different climates and habitats, scientific classification, the main groups or families, as well as details of the physical structure and chemical composition. At the same time, we will delve into its link to the world applied to the world of health and well-being in a broad sense, which includes both its potential applications as medicinal plants, as well as its nutritional aspects, through learning about its diverse uses and its potential use in the preparation of preparations or as nutritional supplements especially linked to cooking with a focus on health -healthyfood- or raw cooking -rawfood-, or the preparation of various drinks with this perspective.

Introduction to medicinal botany:

Use of wild plants applied to health

Training Objectives:

This course will provide basic knowledge about the use of wild plants found in different natural environments—mainly in or originating from Europe—and their application to health.

The course is designed to provide fundamental knowledge related to the world of wild plants and their relationship with different environments and climates, primarily in Europe.

Students will learn to understand the relationship between wild ingredients and their environment: their adaptation, their unique characteristics as sources of active compounds, how to ensure their safe use, their useful parts, their botanical classification, their chemical composition, and their various applications as medicinal plants—ranging from the most traditional to the most contemporary—as well as the processes from harvesting to preservation.

Finally, students will learn to easily distinguish the main families—and the most common species—of plants that can be found readily in their immediate surroundings, applying this knowledge to the health field.

This course aims to provide theoretical knowledge that is also highly applicable to the use of wild plants for medicinal purposes and to promote well-being, which are readily available today.

Primarily aimed at: therapists involved in the use of natural products, practitioners, nurses, naturopaths, and entrepreneurs working in the health sector.

Duration: 1 to 3 days

Health and Nature:

The training method is based on a holistic, dynamic and participatory approach that includes both the transmission of theoretical knowledge and reflection and practice in classroom exercises, with field trips, and in the classroom, always with plain and understandable language.

Each course will adapt to the environment – both natural, climatic and cultural – where the training takes place.

All the training is proprietary to Naturalwalks and is based on the experience of the teaching team and their specialized learning in their area of knowledge.
